The Utilization of Non Conventional Energy Sources

Our most esteemed administrators and teacher, my beloved friends, ladies and gentlemen, a pleasant morning to you.

The growing demand of energy has resulted in the increasing consumption of fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and gas. According to what scientists have said, it’s only a matter of time for fossil fuels to run out. Moreover increasing use of fossil fuels also causes serious environmental problems. When the oil and coal are burn they produce huge amounts of carbon dioxide and other harmful gases that have a negative effects on the environment. That’s why it is important for us to find alternative and renewable energy sources like solar energy, wind, tide, biomas and energy from waste material. These are called non-conventional energy sources.

Non-conventional sources of energy comprise those energy sources that are natural, inexhaustible as well as renewable.

Solar energy is the most advanced form of energy out of all the renewable energy sources. It has no side effect to the environment. India is the country that has applied this kind of energy source and India is planning to produce 20000 MW of solar power by 2022.

Wind energy can be used for pumping water for irrigating farms in the countryside, also it can be used for generating electricity. It’s used the power of air flow to drive the wind turbines and generate electricity. China is a world leader in wind power generation, with the largest installed capacity on any nation and continued rapid growth in new wind facilities.

Bio gas is produced by using farm and waste material. The power is produced to used for cooking and lighting houses.

Tidal energy is another unlimited and inexhaustible source of energy. It’s used the tidal power to generate electricity. Australia, USA, South Korea, UK, China are the countries that have applied this kind of energy source.

What about Indonesia? Well as we know, Indonesia in the largest maritime nation in the world and Indonesia is also blessed with an abundance of sunlight, and wind that makes Indonesia has high potential to use those energy to replace the use of fossil fuels.

That’s the end of my speech, I hope this speech is useful, and I hope Indonesia can apply those energy sources to replace the use of fossil fuels as soon as possible.
